The Hendry County Tax Collector’s Office offers Dealer Title & Tag Services to support licensed motor vehicle dealers with efficient processing of title transfers, registrations, and plate issuance. Our office works directly with dealers to ensure transactions are completed accurately, in compliance with Florida law, and with minimal delay, helping you serve your customers quickly and confidently.

What You’ll Need

For all registration renewals

To process dealer title and tag transactions, please ensure the following items are complete and available at the time of submission:

Valid Florida Dealer License

Completed Application for Certificate of Title (HSMV 82040 or applicable form)

Properly assigned Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO) or current title

Bill of Sale or dealer invoice

Odometer Disclosure Statement (if applicable)

Proof of Florida insurance (when required)

Applicable sales or use tax and fees

Lienholder information (if applicable)

Power of Attorney forms (if signing on behalf of a customer)

Incomplete documentation may delay processing.

Prepare Documentation

Ensure all required dealer paperwork is complete, signed, and accurate.

Submit to Tax Collector

Transactions may be submitted in person or through approved dealer processing channels. Hendry County Dealers may process up to three transactions while waiting. Submissions exceeding three transactions must be dropped off for processing. Out-of-county dealers must obtain prior authorization before dropping off dealer work.

Fee & Tax Collection

Applicable title, registration, plate, and sales tax amounts are collected at submission. Fees must be submitted at time of transaction. An escrow account with payment may be established when dropping off bulk transactions for processing.

Processing & Review

Our team reviews documentation for compliance and processes the transaction.

Issuance & Completion

Titles, registrations, and plates are issued according to transaction type and delivery method.

FAQs

Do dealers need an appointment?

No, Hendry County dealers can walk in and process up to three transactions by taking a number from our kiosk. If processing more than three transactions, dealer work can be dropped off for processing.

Can dealers submit transactions electronically?

No, dealer work cannot be submitted electronically for processing. However, in certain situations, additional or supplemental documentation may be requested and may be submitted by email.

What happens if paperwork is incomplete?

Incomplete or incorrect documentation may result in processing delays or rejections.

How long does dealer drop off transactions take to process?

Processing times vary based on transaction type and time of submission. We try to process all work within 3 – 5 business days.

Are out of state dealer transactions accepted?

Yes, provided that all Florida statutory requirements are met.
