Overview

Owning and operating a vehicle in Florida comes with important responsibilities. As your Tax Collector, our office serves as an agent for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) to help you keep your title, registration, and license plate as well as your Driver License & ID  up to date.

Whether you’ve purchased a new vehicle, moved to Hendry County, or simply need to renew your registration, our team is here to guide you through each step. Many services can be completed online, while others may require a visit to one of our offices in LaBelle or Clewiston.

Before your visit, review the services below to see what you need to bring and to determine whether your transaction can be completed online. Our goal is to make your experience as quick, convenient, and accurate as possible.

Services

Vehicle Titles

Transfer ownership of a vehicle, add or remove an owner, or apply for a Florida title. We can assist with dealer transactions, private-party sales, out-of-state titles, and lien recordings. Be sure to bring your identification, proof of ownership, and any supporting documents listed on your title paperwork.

Registration Renewals

Renew your Florida license plate and registration for cars, trucks, trailers, and recreational vehicles and vessels. Many renewals can be completed online or by mail, but you are always welcome to visit our office if you prefer in-person assistance. Avoid late fees by renewing before your registration expires.

License Plates

Order or replace standard, specialty, or personalized license plates. We can help with lost or stolen plates, damaged plates, and plate transfers between vehicles. Additional state fees may apply for specialty and personalized plates.

Driver Licenses & ID Cards

Need to update your address, renew your license, or obtain a Florida ID card? As an agent of FLHSMV, our office issues driver licenses and ID cards for eligible Florida residents. Certain transactions may require an appointment and additional documentation, such as proof of identity, Social Security number, and residential address.

Express Lane Services

Save time on select transactions by using our Express Lane options when available. Eligible services may include online renewals, tag pick-up, or other quick in-and-out visits. Check our website for current Express Lane offerings and instructions before you come in.

Military Services

We are honored to serve our active-duty military members and veterans. Our office can assist with military exemptions where applicable, specialty military license plates, and veteran designations on your Florida driver license or ID card. Please bring your DD-214 or other qualifying military documentation.
